In recent years, national laws and community regulations have been urging the entire painting sector to choose more eco-compatible sustainable techniques and technologies over solvent based materials and products (VOC).

Water-based paints are a financially advantageous and technologically pursuable solution to this problem.

Water Team has come into contact with SoftRain, a young dynamic and magnificent reality in the world of water-based paint and nano technologies.

Soft Rain presented us with their problem relating to the production of high quality osmosis water, 5-10 µS in processes of discontinuous use and with small/medium volumes.

The technicians at Water Team took on board the customer’s needs and produced a reverse osmosis plant which is able to integrate completely with the painting process and respond to the specific needs of this kind of painting.

The salient characteristics of the machine produced by Water Team, which sets a new standard for the production of osmosis water, are:

  • Flushing. When not in production, the plant is put at rest leaving the osmotic membranes in contact with the osmosis water;
  • Sterilization of the water produced with UV system;
  • Function of discharging permeate for levels of conductivity beyond the acceptability threshold;
  • High pressure pump controlled by inverter;
  • Modular valve of concentrated wastewater;
  • Machine equipped with station for the preparation and dosing of scale inhibitor;
  • Permeate storage tank;
  • Electrical panel with touch screen;
  • Remote control for parameter reading and interventions on the programme;
  • Machine set-up for the attachments and accumulations for chemical washing;
  • Efficiency of permeate water over incoming feed water at 70%;
  • Plant assembled on compact stainless steel skid;

All these characteristics have the following advantages:

  • Continuity over time of flow rate and quality of water produced;
  • Fully automatic plant;
  • Optimal efficiency of water produced;
  • Easy to control and supervise by means of a large and comfortable touch screen;
  • Extension of average life of osmotic membranes;
  • Almost total absence of extraordinary and routine maintenance work;
  • Possibility to remotely supervise and control.
